Extraordinary Love in Ordinary Days
Practicing Jesus' extraordinary love in our everyday lives
Hi friends,
Through my newsletter, I try to bring you moments of spiritual clarity amidst life's chaos—Scripture to anchor you, encouragement to uplift you, and grace to carry you forward on your faith journey.
Each week, you'll get a bite-sized dose of inspiration, perfect for busy days when you need a lift.
Let's dive into today's edition!
Verse of the Week
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.
As we approach Easter weekend, I've been reflecting on what extraordinary love looks like in action.
Last Sunday, I watched my neighbor quietly shovel the driveway of an elderly widow next door—no recognition sought, no praise expected.
It was a small sacrifice of time and comfort that spoke volumes.
Jesus didn't just speak these words—He lived them in the most profound way.
His journey to the cross wasn't just a historical event; it was the ultimate demonstration of what love is willing to give.
What would it look like if we approached this sacred weekend not just remembering His sacrifice, but asking ourselves: "Where am I called to show this kind of love today?"
A Quick Reflection
True love isn't measured by grand gestures—it's found in consistent sacrifice for others.
I felt convicted of this yesterday when rushing through my day, too busy to really listen when a friend called needing support. I had to pause and remember that love often requires us to set aside our agendas.
The week Jesus faced the cross, He still made time to teach, heal, and minister. His priorities remained clear even as the ultimate sacrifice approached.
Try it: This week, ask yourself each morning, "Whose burden can I help carry today?" Then make space for that person, just as Jesus made space for us.
Your Grace Note
Here's a practical tip: Take 15 minutes this week to write down what Jesus's sacrifice personally means to you.
Be specific—go beyond general statements to name exactly how His love has transformed your life.
Keep this reflection somewhere visible through Easter Sunday as a reminder of why this weekend matters so deeply.
